Yet after three months of maternity leave, I was dying to hand him off to my trusty daycare provider and go back to work!  &lt;br /&gt;But admitting you look forward to time away from your child is sacrilegious, judging from the reaction I get from people.  So I&amp;#39;ve stopped telling the truth.  When people say, &amp;quot;Oh, you must hate going to work,&amp;quot; I just say what they want to hear: &amp;quot;I miss him terribly, stare at his photos all day, and look forward to picking him up every day.&amp;quot;  Which is 100% true.  But I always knew that staying at home wouldn&amp;#39;t be good for me.  I think some moms enjoy it more than others.
